The ChatterBoards app stands out as the most affordable option when compared to other AAC apps with similar features. Developed in collaboration with Speech Therapists and end users, its primary goal is to provide an accessible solution for individuals in need of augmentative and alternative communication without the burden of substantial costs or monthly subscriptions.

Catering to people of all ages facing speech or language difficulties, ChatterBoards serves as an intuitive AAC aid. This includes individuals with conditions such as autism, aphasia, apraxia, stroke, Down syndrome, and various disabilities hindering effective communication and expression of needs.

Constantly evolving with regular updates and feature enhancements, ChatterBoards values user input and considers all suggestions and requests. The app boasts an extensive feature list:

• Vocabulary boards: Create and utilize multiple paged vocabularies to construct sentences.
• Board levels: Progressively build a user's vocabulary by displaying a limited set of words at each level, gradually expanding until the full board is presented. Words/tiles remain stationary between boards to facilitate learning and retention.
• Basic phrase boards: Associate basic full phrases/sentences with individual buttons for quick responses or essential communication needs.
• Profile flexibility: Easily switch between different profiles with distinct sets of boards and settings. Ideal for households with multiple users or specialists assisting various clients.
• Varying board dimensions: Supports all board sizes up to and including 16x16 (rows x columns) per page.
• Customizable buttons: Personalize button attributes such as text, color (border and background), image, and audio playback.
• Diverse image options: Choose from over 4000 sample symbols, including more than 3500 symbols provided by Mulberry Symbols and over 500 symbols designed by Freepik and distributed by Flaticon.
• Image library integration: Save images from the internet or your own symbol libraries into your device's photo library for easy access and utilization.
• Text-only and image-only buttons: Supports both types of buttons for increased versatility.
• Customizable button audio: Utilize the Text to Speech synthesizer or record personal voice recordings using your device's microphone.
• Keyboard input mode: Enter desired vocabulary manually using keyboard input as an alternative to symbol-based communication.
• Language and voice options: The Text to Speech feature supports all iOS packaged languages, offering over 50 languages/dialects with multiple male and female voices available in English.
