The ChatterBoards app stands out as the most affordable option when compared to other AAC apps with similar features. Developed in collaboration with Speech Therapists and end users, its primary goal is to provide an accessible solution for individuals in need of augmentative and alternative communication without the burden of substantial costs or monthly subscriptions.

Catering to people of all ages facing speech or language difficulties, ChatterBoards serves as an intuitive AAC aid. This includes individuals with conditions such as autism, aphasia, apraxia, stroke, Down syndrome, and various disabilities hindering effective communication and expression of needs.

Constantly evolving with regular updates and feature enhancements, ChatterBoards values user input and considers all suggestions and requests. The app boasts an extensive feature list:

 <li>Varying board dimensions: Supports all board sizes up to and including 16x16 (rows x columns) per page.</li>
 <li>Customizable buttons: Personalize button attributes such as text, color (border and background), image, and audio playback.</li>
 <li>Diverse image options: Choose from over 4000 sample symbols, including more than 3500 symbols provided by Mulberry Symbols and over 500 symbols designed by Freepik and distributed by Flaticon.</li>
 <li>Image library integration: Save images from the internet or your own symbol libraries into your device's photo library for easy access and utilization.</li>
 <li>Text-only and image-only buttons: Supports both types of buttons for increased versatility.</li>
 <li>Customizable button audio: Utilize the Text to Speech synthesizer or record personal voice recordings using your device's microphone.</li>
 <li>Keyboard input mode: Enter desired vocabulary manually using keyboard input as an alternative to symbol-based communication.</li>
 <li>Language and voice options: The Text to Speech feature supports all iOS packaged languages, offering over 50 languages/dialects with multiple male and female voices available in English.</li>
 <li>Audio customization: Adjust rate, pitch, and volume of the Text to Speech synthesizer to match individual preferences.</li>
 <li>App-wide settings: Set default values for voice/language, rate, pitch, and volume across the entire app for consistent user experience.</li>
 <li>Flexible board customization: Modify board dimensions at any time and add, delete, or rearrange buttons as desired.</li>
 <li>Duplicate boards: Copy existing boards to create new permutations effortlessly.</li>
 <li>Tile manipulation: Copy and paste individual tiles for efficient board creation and customization.</li>
 <li>Sharing functionality: Share boards with other ChatterBoards users via Apple AirDrop, Mail, Messages, or any other compatible application installed on your device.</li>
 <li>Control lock: Enable control locking, such as editing restrictions, for added security and convenience.</li>
 <li>Support for iPhone and iPad: ChatterBoards is fully compatible with both devices.</li>

The app also includes a selection of Arasaac Symbols, with approximately 20 samples. These pictograms are the property of the Aragon Government and were created by Sergio Palao for ARASAAC. They are distributed under the Creative Commons License (BY-NC-SA) accessible at http://arasaac.org.
